Children’s art
A course for enjoying drawing and color while turning your own ideas into pictures. The instructor listens to what each child wants to draw and guides them from there.
- Kindergarten (ages 4–6), elementary and junior high
- One-to-one teaching for each child
It starts withwanting to draw.
They love drawing. They love coloring. That feeling is enough to start. We value not only finishing neatly, but time spent thinking and trying things out while drawing.

- Loves drawing and using color
- Wants to draw the things they imagine
- Wants to choose colors and shapes for themselves, not just copy an example
- Wants time for something they enjoy outside school
- Wants to draw more things and use more colors, little by little
Every child's own “I want to draw”
What do you want to draw? What colors do you want? We start by listening to the child's ideas. Rather than everyone working on the same task, the instructor gives advice suited to what each child wants to draw.
Drawing from observation
Look closely at what you want to draw and notice differences in shape and color as you draw.
Using color
Choose and layer colors to bring the picture closer to the mood you want.

Drawing your own theme
Turn the things you imagine and the things you love into pictures. When you are unsure how to draw something, you work it out with the instructor.
Digital work
Work on an iPad or tablet is also supported.

What drawing builds
What to draw, which colors to use. Drawing time is full of moments to choose, try and adjust for yourself.
Choosing for yourself
Deciding what to draw and which colors to use builds judgment.
Trying things out
“What happens if I layer this color?” Actually trying ideas builds initiative and problem-solving.
Finding a way
When something doesn't turn out as hoped, working it through alone or with the instructor builds imagination and originality.
Telling through pictures
Showing a scene in your head or something you love with color and shape builds expression and presentation skills.
What each child wants to drawis different
- Enjoy drawing time even more
- Draw the things they come up with
- Get closer to the colors they imagine
- Finish a picture all the way
What children work on and how often they come differs from child to child. At the trial lesson we watch how your child gets on and suggest a way of attending that suits them.
Somewhere besides schoolto do what they love
Children going through a time when school is hard, and children not attending school, come here too.
They can work at their own pace, following what they want to draw and how they feel that day. Start with a trial lesson to see the classroom and how your child gets on with the instructors.
Learning beyond school
At FUTOKO DAY 2022, an event for children not attending school, we ran the “Manga Illustration Club” and let children across Japan try drawing manga and illustrations.
Featured in the newspapers
Newspapers have covered learning to draw and supporting what children want to do.
