Turning your child’s potential into a future through manga and illustration education

Horie Art High School

Correspondence high school support school — Horie Art High School

Love illustration and manga? Hold on to that feeling and work toward high-school graduation.

For children who love to draw

Not going to school, but still loves drawing illustrations and manga. This is for children like that, and for their parents.

Horie Art High School is a support school for correspondence high schools, born out of Horie Art School. Students learn illustration and manga while working toward graduation from a partner correspondence high school.

For parents

Families have long told Horie Art School that “an ordinary high school doesn’t suit my child” or “my child isn’t going to school, but wants to learn manga and illustration.”

In response, we partnered with a high school and founded Horie Art High School, so students can work toward graduation while learning the art they love.

“My child loves drawing but doesn’t feel ready to visit yet.” Many parents consult us on their own at that stage.

Even before your child decides to visit, tell us about their current situation and what concerns you.

We also welcome consultations from parents alone.

Even without a dream for the future yet

“I love drawing illustrations and manga.” “First, I want to graduate from high school.” At Horie Art High School, children like this learn in a way that fits their own goals and current skills.

Taught individually, around what you want to draw

Drawing favourite characters, trying to make manga: we start by asking what each student wants to draw.

In lessons, instructors go round the students in turn, look at each person’s drawing, and teach techniques and help with problems one to one.

Professional manga artists, illustrators and painters teach to each student’s goals and current skills.

We also build each student’s curriculum individually.

We build an exam curriculum around the target university’s exam and the student’s current skills.

If goals change along the way, students can switch courses.

Missed lessons can be made up with no conditions such as limits on their number or deadlines.
