Manga experience for international visitors

A manga experience
to enjoy in Osaka

Why not draw your favourite manga or anime characters as a memory of your trip to Osaka?

Horie Art School runs manga experiences for visitors from overseas. You can join on a trip on your own, with family or friends, or as part of a school or travel-company group tour.

Never drawn before? No problem

Instructors talk to each person and teach in a way that suits them.

For faces, hair or anything you’re not sure how to draw, they draw an example and explain. Beginners are very welcome.

On your own, with family or friends

You can join on your own or with family and friends. First, let us know the dates and times that fit your travel plans.

For travel companies and schools

We also host school trips and Japanese culture tours, and suggest the content and how the session runs to suit your group size, ages and languages.

For groups, please contact us at least a month ahead where possible.

From inquiry to the day

Inquiry and booking

We ask about the date, group size and what you’d like to do, then explain the content and fee. Your booking is confirmed once you’ve agreed.

Listen, then start drawing

On the day, we explain the theme and how to use the tools. You draw manga and characters together with the instructor.

Photos and taking your work home

You can take your drawings home as a memory of your trip. You’re welcome to take photos during the session and with your finished work.
